High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Black Panthers (Hebrew: , HaPanterim HaShhorim) were an Israeli protest movement of second-generation Jewish immigrants from Middle Eastern countries. They were one of the first organizations in Israel with the mission of working for social justice for the Mizrahi Jews. Saadia Marciano, one of the movement's founders, chose the name "Black Panthers" in 1971 when Angela Davis, one of the African American Black Panthers, came to visit Israel where she met with Marciano, who then adopted the name. They are also sometimes referred to as the Israeli Black Panthers to distinguish them from the African American group.

Diaspora and Belonging: Black Jewish Americans ...
70,00 € *
ggf. zzgl. Versand

This book explores the relationship that Black American Jews have with the state of Israel, and claims that for some Black Jews who are marginalized within the greater American Jewish community, close ties to Israel can increase their legitimacy. This project posits that social positionality can shape identity formation and examines perspectives of individuals who experience different levels of marginalization in order to examine how an individual's social position in the diaspora can affect that person's connection to a homeland. The extent of a Black Jewish person's marginalization in the United States depends on a number of factors including one's synagogue or the origins of ones ties to Judaism. While there is a continuum of experiences and identities within the diverse Black Jewish community, generally those individuals who are most marginalized in the United States tend to identify most strongly with Israel as their homeland.

Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army
29,90 € *
ggf. zzgl. Versand

The Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army (SICIA) is a spiritual church that emerged from the Church of God in David, a denomination that was founded in the mid-1920s in Alabama (and later moved to Michigan) by Bishop Derks Field. Upon Field's death, W. D. Dickson led the congregation and changed its name to the current title, against the wishes of Field's brother. With a largely African-American congregation, it promotes the belief that as Christians are children of God and are spiritual children of Israel, Israel is God, and to find God in oneself is to find Israel spiritually in oneself. Members refer to themselves as Israelites, not to be confused with Israelis. Though not separatist, the church is somewhat political, believing that Adam, Noah, Moses, and Jesus were all black men. Through its fellowship, this black church seeks to free the African-American community from dependence on white America.

The greatest injustice that the black man has suffered is not slavery, because many other races including our brothers the white people suffered the same fate, so every race and people on the face of the earth at one point or the other in their history experienced slavery, collectively as a people, or singly as victims of the ancient trade of human sale. As a black man I empathise with the pains, travails and afflictions of my ancestors, and that is why for many years, I campaigned against the idea of the payment of reparation, because I know to collect money is tantamount to selling the future of little black children all over the world. The greatest injustice done to the black man, is the erasure of his identity in antiquity, and the systematic generational hypnotism carried out on his progeny, so as to make them believe they are lesser than their peers from other races. Moses married a black woman, King Solomon married a black woman, Joseph married a black, these facts are boldly written in every Bible all over the world. So why is the blackman facing racism and racial abuse today? It is because a lie has endured for too long and errors persisted for too many generations.
